SecureWire is launching soon for UK accounting and bookkeeping practices. Manage client work alongside the books, from document requests and approvals to the ledger, tax and payroll. Each stage keeps a record of who did what.

How it fits together

From invoice to VAT return

Follow an invoice from the sale to a VAT return prepared from the same ledger.

  1. Sales invoiceINV-1042: £2,000 + £400 VAT
  2. LedgerDr Trade debtors; Cr Sales, VAT
  3. Bank feed£2,400.00 from ACME LTD
  4. ReportsDebtors cleared and cash updated
  5. VAT return£400 output VAT

An invoice is raised. Sales and VAT are recorded at this point.

One sale, five stages: an invoice is raised, recording the sale and the VAT. It posts to the ledger as double entry. The customer’s payment appears on the bank feed and is matched to the invoice. The receipt clears the debtor and updates cash. The invoice is included in the VAT return prepared from the same ledger.
